Just like the tailor takes your waist measures, measuring your feet is an important step towards the creation of perfect shoes, especially if customized by you. Let us guide you through this sartorial measurement experience and tell us the key sizes so we can advise on the best shoe lasts and shoe styles for you.
Follow the foot measurement instructions below, carrying out the procedure for both feet.
Take out your socks and place your foot on an A4 sheet or a US letter.
Hold a pen upright in a 90 degree angle to the paper and trace the outline of your foot (pic. 1). Make sure to mark clearly the longest part of the foot (generally the big toe) and rear (heel) (pic.2).
With the measuring tape, write down the size on the sheet (eg: 26.6 cm) and mark the point equal to half the length (pic. 3) (eg: 13.3 cm).
Write the size here below, including the millimeters too (ex: 26.8 cm).
Place the measuring tape under your foot.
Measure the circumference around your foot at the widest point, at the bone of the first and fifth metatarsals (pic.4).
Don’t tighten the measuring tape too much (pic. 5).
Slide the measuring tape at the base of the junction of the toes (pic. 6) and write down the size here below, including millimeters too (eg: 24.5).
Place your foot on the foot shape you draw in Step 1, making sure to place it in the same exact position (pic. 7).
Place the measuring tape under your foot, make sure to place it on the point equal to half the length of the foot, that you previously marked in step 1 (pic. 8).
Measure the instep circumference being careful to don’t tighten the measuring tape too much (pic. 9).
Write down the size here below, including millimeters too (ex: 24.2 cm).
